Karl Pearson, writer for the Ashtabula Star Beacon for almost 35 years, has passed away.  He was 58.
He had just begun his 34th year as a full-time member of the Star Beacon staff.

He was a member of the Ashtabula County Basketball Foundation Hall of Fame, Ashtabula County Football Hall of Fame, Ashtabula Bowling Hall of Fame and the Northeast District Media Hall of Fame for his writing.

Pearson was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Perry, where he was a member for more than half a century, and loved teaching Sunday school and was a proud member of the church choir. He also served as moderator for the Ashtabula Baptist Association.

As a long-term member of the Messiah Chorus of Lake County, he will be sorely missed.
